A full time-artist for more than 28 years, DEAN LARSON exhibits work in the Foxhall Gallery in Washington, DC. He's had nine solo shows and has been featured in American Art Collector ('06), American Artist ('98 and '05) and several other publications. Using contemporary visions of still life and landscape painting, his paintings reveal mystery and elegance; light is celebrated in his varied subjects and the viewer discovers not only the soul of the city but also the spirit of an artist who relates and communicates his great love for light and shadow. Whether the grandeur of ancient architectural landscape, Larson interprets and celebrates his subject. ~ Larson's new works exhibit his talented versatility with various genre: landscapes and interiors. He has won numerous awards including Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, New York, NY and has been chosen as a top realist painter in American Artist's National Art Competition. Foxhall Gallery has been proud to represent Larson since 1985.
TAMMY CALLENS is equally proficient in landscape, portrait and still life genres. She utilizes traditional painting techniques in a decidedly contemporary way. While her subject matter remains timeless, her dramatic yet intimate compositions, shimmering color harmonies and painterly brushwork are firmly rooted in the 21st century. Her luminous oils reflect a clarity of vision and spiritual focus reminiscent of earlier California painters; she has recently re-located to the state of Wyoming. Callens states: I still like working directly from life, but working in the studio gives me time to study my compositions in depth, time to meditate and focus on what compels me to paint.... the underlying spiritual structure and content of what I'm viewing." ~ Callens' awards include National Wildlife Museum, Jackson Hole, Wyoming 2008, Treasure State Art Auction Juried Bozeman Montana 2006, Artist magazine portrait and landscape finalists.
